She was 94 years old and was born on June 13, 1923 in Washington, D.C. at Walter Reed. Her father and longtime Alexandria resident Col. Henry Chester Hine, Jr. was an Army officer stationed in the area at the time with her mother Norvell Pauline, who was the daughter of soon-to-be Chief of Chaplains Julian E. Yates. She had a sister Janet Hines and a half-sister Page Billig, both now deceased.
